One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. I had the pleasure of spending 4 nights at the Oberwiesen and was completely thrilled. Everything was perfect, from the room to the spa area. But what surprised me most was the breakfast. Regional products, handmade and incredibly delicious. Definitely the best value for money of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. We’ll definitely be back.

Riscone in the snow
For us, winter starts right outside the door – with slopes, cross-country trails and a variety of winter paths all around.
Skiing on Plan de Corones
Welcome to South Tyrol’s number 1 ski mountain! You can reach the Plan de Corones valley station from us on foot in 9 minutes or by car in one minute. A ski bus also runs regularly from a stop very close by.
Via Dolomiti Superski, the same ski pass takes you further, all the way to Sella Ronda and Alta Badia, for a total of more than 1,200 kilometres of slopes. On site there’s a lockable, video-secured ski room with a heated boot dryer, and at Rentaski Gigger Alm and Rent&Go you’ll get a discount on equipment rental as one of our guests. Usually from the end of December into March, a groomed slope even leads directly to our door.
Cross-country skiing in Val Pusteria
You can use the cross-country trail in Riscone free of charge as our guest. It’s located 1.8 kilometres away and is illuminated in the evening twice a week. You can rent cross-country skis directly on site. For particularly beautiful views, it’s also worth taking a trip to Riva di Tures, San Vigilio, Anterselva, Prato Piazza or the Val di Casies.
Trails in the snow
Winter hiking through the snow-covered forest, or snowshoeing across alpine meadows and up to deserted peaks: in and around Riscone you’ll find plenty of unspoiled routes. Twice a week, the KronAktiv programme offers guided snowshoe hikes, included for our guests. For easy walks, we recommend Prato Piazza, the Val Fiscalina or the area around the Passo delle Erbe.
Georg’s tip: for anyone who’d rather get around on skins than snowshoes, your host also has a few favourite ski touring routes up his sleeve, for example in the area of Sennes and Fanes starting from Pederü. Feel free to ask the enthusiastic ski mountaineer directly.
Sledging & ice skating
It doesn’t always have to be a big adventure – sometimes a quick sledge run or a lap on the ice is enough.
- Sledging: the chairlift takes you up to Korer on Plan de Corones, where a short sledge run awaits. Several huts in the area also offer their own sledge runs, where you can rent a sledge right onnbsp;site.
- Ice skating: in the sports zone in Riscone (2 km, free) or at the Intercable Arena (4 km) in Brunico.
